Out of the proceeds of the Church's Op Shop, the Uniting church runs a free Food Pantry. The church understands that these are challenging times for many. You are welcome to pop into the food pantry on Thursdays between 12 and 2 pm and choose the food you need. Customers choose their food one by one and so numbers are given out from 11-30am each Thursday.
We are currently receiving donations of bread from Bakers Delight in the shopping centre in Vincentia, and donations from the community are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Coles and Woolworths are also contributing weekly. The Sanctuary Point Community Garden provides us with some fresh vegetables each week to supplement what we purchase for the Pantry. We would especially like to thank the Meditation Group in Vincentia who purchase non perishables for the Pantry every week.
The Food Pantry is at 7 Meriton St, St Georges Basin and no appointment is necessary.
There are basic items available each week, such as long-life milk, bread, frozen sausages or mince, cereals, tinned food, toiletries and fresh fruit and vegetables. Please bring your own bags if possible and we have a limit of two regular-sized shopping bags per household.
Everyone is welcome.
If you would like to make a financial donation to the Food Pantry, the account is Shoalhaven Central Uniting Church - Food Pantry BSB 634 634 Account 100013861.
